即将推出的 《Resident Evil Village》 还没推出就传来了许多各种各样的传言，例如之前报道过的游戏即将支持 Remote Play。这次的传言声明 《Resident Evil Village》 将会是三部曲中的第二章，并表示游戏最终章《Resident Evil 9》已在开发当中。

这次的传言来自于一名以往泄露了许多正确消息的 Twitter 网民 Dusk Golem。Dusk Golem 宣称《Resident Evil Village》将会是前一代主角「Ethan Winters」故事的第二章，并将在《Resident Evil 9》中完成「Ethan」的故事。他也表示如果《Resident Evil Village》的卖相不错，《Resident Evil 9》或许将会更快到来。

除此之外，Dusk Golem 也表示《Resident Evil 9》之后的故事将会以独自的故事来呈现，并不会再与前作的故事有任何关系。有关《Resident Evil 9》的消息，Dusk Golem 早在上个月就表示游戏早已在2018年时就正在开发当中，但游戏距离完成品还有点久远。 
有关《Resident Evil 9》是否会再次使用《Resident Evil Village》中的题材或者添加新题材尚未被揭晓，只能等待未来官方的公布了。《Resident Evil Village》体验版即将推出，而游戏也将于5月7日正式登陆在 Xbox One、Xbox Series X|S、PS5、PS4、PC 与 Stadia 平台。
